WS2811 addressable strip light is the external IC addressable pixel tape that launched firstly in the market, earlier than WS2812B, WS2813 and WS2815. It only has one data line but is stable , can be made to DC12v , technology is mature. Clients all know this and need more details.

How to select IC model for SM16703 strip light in controller?

SM16703 digital LED strip has external IC SM16703 which all controllers support too, if you cannot find SM16703 in your controller, you can choose UCS1903, SM16703 has the same function as UCS1903 LED strip.

Why we have SM16703 strip light?

SM16703 has the same function as WS2811, out looking is the same too. You cannot figure out which is the WS2811 and which is SM16703 unless you check carefully on the IC which indicates the IC module. Both are 3pins, Positive + negative + single data line

You may ask why we have SM16703? It is a updated clone based on WS2811, just like SK6812 is an updated versions based on WS2812B. With more stable function.
