a. How long is your disinfection time and uvc dose required to kill bacteria?
– To sterilize the general bacterial propagule: the radiation dose should reach 10 000 μW.s/c㎡
-To sterilize bacterial spores: should reach 100 000 μW.s/c㎡
-To sterilize viruses: disinfection time between 1 and the spore
-To sterilize fungal spores: higher than bacterial spores, sometimes it needs to be irradiated to 600 000 μW.s/c㎡ (generally pathogenic fungi have weaker resistance to ultraviolet light than bacterial spores)
-To sterilize unknown target microorganisms: not less than 100 000 μW.s/c㎡ (Source: "Disinfection Technical Specifications")
-To sterilize coliform bacteria: should reach 20 000 μW.s/c㎡
-To sterilize the spores of Bacillus subtilis var. black: should reach 100 000 μW.s/c㎡
For example, our UVC strip 30leds/m with lens uvc led strip can reach 1000μW/c㎡, so needs 10 seconds to kill general bacterial, 20 seconds to kill coliform bacteria, 100 seconds to kill bacterial spores......

b.How long is your disinfection distance from the UVC source to the sterilization surface?
UVC LED radiation now is not as strong as traditional UV lamps, can be used for distance less than 50cm. If more than 50cm disinfection distance, the LED will be much more expensive..
c. UVC LED beam angle 60 degrees VS 120 degree let us take 20mw UVC LED chip as a comparison:
60 degree 20mw chip reaches 190.99μW/cm2 while 120 degrees 20mw chip only gets 21.22μW/cm2, what a huge gap!!

d.Your application is for air disinfection or surface disinfection or water disinfection? These need different solutions
Surface & air purification generally requires high-intensity short-wave UV light. Mostly this means UVC lamps are mounted close to the surface requiring to be kept free from infection or to be purified. The success of surface purification depends largely on the surface irregularity of the material to be purified because UV light can only inactivate those micro-organisms that it hits with a sufficient dose.
Water can be regarded as similar to air so the further the UVC light is able to penetrate the liquid, the more efficient is its action. The degree of efficiency thus greatly depends on the liquid and more particularly its absorption coefficient at 275 nm, As an example, natural water’s transparency to 275 nm may vary by as much as a factor of 10 or more from place to place. Polluted industrial needs much higher uvc dose.

2. can be cut as every 3 LEDs such as 10cm or 5cm, places that need a different length
The rigid uvc led module bar light has one big advantage is that it has a lot better heat dissipation function which means the power consumption could be quite big that can reach 70μW/cm2 with an aluminum housing profile for heat dissipation as pictured below at 100cm distance while UVC flexible strip can normally reach less than 10μW/cm2 at 100cm distance.
However, the UVC rigid module can not be cut, cannot be bendable, it has a fixed shape...

Effects of UVC LED sterilization,
Regarding UVC LED chip:
While UVB radiation is widely recognized for its harmful effects on human skin and links to skin cancer, each of the UV bands (UVA, UVB and UVC) creates different risks for humans.
UVA: from 320nm to 400nm
UVB: from 290nm to 320nm
UVC: from 200nm to 280nm
UVA is harmful to the skin, UVB is a risk to skin cancer, UVC can cause serious to the skin, but we can not be touched by natural ultraviolet light, only by artificial ultraviolet light please see the picture below:
UVC radiation refers to wavelengths shorter than 280 nm. These wavelengths are entirely absorbed by our atmosphere and no natural UVC radiation reaches the surface of the earth.
These wavelengths are available to us through artificial sources, such as UVC LEDs or mercury lamps. The intensity from point sources like UVC LED falls off as 1 over distance squared, and once it gets past the scattering length, it falls off exponentially.
This means that:
1) the further away the UVC source from a human, the lesser dose he is exposed to, and
2) the absorption length of UVC radiation in human skin is extremely short so that almost no UVC radiation can reach the living cells in the skin; all the absorption occurs in the dead cell layers.
Acute (short-term) effects include redness or ulceration of the skin. At high levels of exposure, these burns can be serious. For chronic (long-term) exposures, there is also a cumulative risk, which depends on the amount of exposure during your lifetime. The long-term risk for large cumulative exposure includes premature aging of the skin and skin cancer.
